Native American Tattoos

Great Native American tattoos

Hi all! If you follow me on Facebook, you know I sometimes post pictures of cool looking and well drawn Native American tattoos. You might not all agree, but I see those tattoos as works of art. Some are so detailed and realistic, you would think you are looking at a picture or a painting. Tattoos can be a sensitive topic, I am aware of that. As not everyone likes them or agrees with them. As with everything, I try to keep an open mind. Speaking from personal experience, tattoos often mean something special and unique to the individual. Yes, some will decide to get a cool looking picture they like tattooed on them. However, I don’t know about you but the tattoos below seem to have been thought through and to have a special meaning to the ones sporting them. I know mine all have a meaning, representing, for example, different times in my life, symbolizing my values, my beliefs or the struggles I have been through. Therefore, reminding me of my strength, as I am here today. I survived. Although they might offend some, they tell a story. A story that I like to be reminded every day. A friend of mine gave me a good analogy not too long ago. It went something like that (I modified it slightly). They say that our body should be our temple. Then what’s wrong with putting a bit of paint on it? 😉

If you do not like tattoos, enjoy the pictures below for what they also are. Art. Art depicting a story, a past, values and beliefs. Enjoy!

Hi Emily. The Native American tattoos that you have shown here are magnificent. I honestly have never seen such works of art in a tattoo before. I usually think of the tattoos that people get these days that are not at all detailed this closely and classy in appearance. The bear and woman tattoo and the Indian Chief tattoo are my favorites and they are amazing. It gives a whole new meaning to me when someone mentions a tattoo. Thanks so much for sharing these pictures!

You are welcome Michelle!I personally think that each tattoo should represent something and should be a work of art. The tattoo artist is just that an artist. So one has to choose carefully their artist. And those tattoos, well they have a historical meaning. A cultural meaning. Just beautiful

Hi Emily, I don’t usually like tattoo’s but these are amazing. They are works of art and tell a story, not like the modern ones. I love the one of the Indian Chief with crow, it looks very spiritual. Thank you for showing them.

WOW! Amazing tats. The artist having done them must be a genius, I have rarely come across tats this stunning. I have one on the small of my back. It is a fairy surrounded by black tribal work and it too is awesome. But these are just amazing. My compliments to the artist. Thank you for sharing.

      Hi Nikki!
I have a few (well more than a few…) done by different artists and all I can say is that when you find a good artist, stick to him or her! Those truly are a work of art. I don’t think they are all by the same artist, but rather by a collection of very talented individuals!

    Hi Emily,
Do you have any information for the artists of these tattoos? Some of us might like to find out where to get one of these designs or how much they might cost. Cheers. 🙂

      Hi Ed!
I do not, however on some of the pictures you do have a website address printed on them. Also, I would say, look at the tattoos shops in your area. Look on their site and look at the portfolio of the artists. You would want to look for someone who is skilled with portraits and working from pictures of people

I’m not into tats. I do agree with you, it’s up to the person. I’m not offended by them at all. I don’t look at people differently because they decided to put a tat on their body. Most people that I come across who has a tat, usually tell me a story about the tat they have. I thought those images you showed were beautiful. My favorite one was the woman warrior tattoo. I thought those were magnificent. 🙂

I love the one with the girl and the wolf the most, something about it resonates deeply with me! Thank you for sharing these beautiful pieces of art! Keep up the great work! 🙂

Oh this is a favorite topic of mine as I have my share of tattoos 🙂 I think all the tattoos here are pieces of art. As it takes one heck of a good artist to draw them and execute the pattern. Just gorgeous!
